  • There were 4 fires set throughout the complex, mainly we were burning broken down shipping pallets, and scrap wood, ignited with a reasonable amount of petrol... The fire service (as you can imagine) has quite a strict environmental code, which does has it influences on what we can/can't burn in training...

I'm happy to re-do the test with more 'noxious' elements being burnt, but need to check out where this would be possible.... Be assured, any further demos will get posted :)

  • @UsefulBenevolence We are taking volunteers for the test you suggest... want to do it? Regarding the temperature resistance of the mask: the Breath of Life Mask is intended for potential 'victims', not professional rescuers (although in today's scenarios these must be 'survivors' before they gear up accordingly and help). Victims trapped in the fire will not have protective clothing on them. Skin burns at 50 degrees C. The mask melts at 110C. So if your skin can bare the heat, you're ok to go.

  • Nice Demo. What were they burning? Firewood? Next Test: Lets get beyond the campfire test and see it work with some pvc pipes burning, polyuruthane foam, tires, in an asbestos lined enclosure, all the hardcore stuff that might be burning in a building fire. At what tempature will the plastic veil melt and turn your skin into a wax museum meltdown. $35 is steep if it doesn't work. Priceless if it saves your life.
