The 178th Fighter Group is one of 88 Air National Guard (ANG) flying units in the United States. Located in Springfield Ohio its primary mission is to train active-duty Air Force, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve pilots to fly F-16C/D Fighting Falcon jets.
In its 2005 BRAC Recommendations, DoD recommended to realign Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport AGS, OH. It would distribute the 178th Fighter Wing's F-16 aircraft to the 132d Fighter Wing, Des Moines IAP AGS, IA (nine aircraft); the 140th Wing (ANG), Buckley AFB, CO (three aircraft) and 149th Fighter Wing (ANG), Lackland AFB, TX (six aircraft), but retain The wing's expeditionary combat support (ECS) elements, the 251st Combat Communications Group (ANG) and 269th Combat Communications Squadron (ANG) in place, and relocate the wing's firefighter positions to Rickenbacker AGS, OH.

sad to see the Yoxford boys go. I will miss the 178th Fighter Wing/ 162nd Fighter Squadron. No more KSGH spotting :( Farewell to the Dutch also.

Nice video, I live in Des Moines iowa and Iam also Amry national Guard. I love watching the 132nd do their stuff while iam on break at work. I remember going to a air show and having a F-16 blast out of a corn field and "buzz" the crowd, it was great rush.
