Slim was in "Pat Garrett" 1973 but Sam never spoke to him on location? doubtful

Slim Pickens was in "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid" 1973 after LQ tells this story? and has one of the greatest death scenes ever put on film

LQ Jones what a legend! One of Hollywood's true greats and no movies since 2006 - why on earth is Hollywood neglecting this legend? Major Dundee, Ride the High Country, The Wild Bunch, Iron Angel, Apache Rifles, The Naked and the Dead, Casino, The Edge, Mask of Zorro, White Line Fever - this guy has been in some much can't figure out why today's producers and directors aren;t hiring this guy - get LQ back on the big screen now!!!

LQ! One of my favorite bad guys. He was tough allright. And all the rest of the gang, Strother, Warren, Slim, etc., they were great in those westerns and there will never be any more like them.

I've always maintained that "Major Dundee" was one of the best Peckinpah's, certainly one of the best films of 1965. "Sound of Music" won the Oscar. Watch all 5 of the nominees. Then watch "Major Dundee." It should have taken the Oscar for Best Picture, no question.

I think LQ meant Slim's kind gesture put him on SP's shite list which apparently everyone was on at least ten times a day. SP was always broke and lived in the trailer in Malibu. Never had a house on that property. Cheers

All I have read/interviews about SP and other associates talking about him I think LQ has nailed it down to the ground. LQ Jones, Srother Martin,Slim Pickins were best friends and worked many movies together. IMO they are the finest of tough genuine actors. Thankfully LQ is still active & working. It is true,SP did have his company of actors on his films who admired and tolerated his mood swings. SP was a brilliant director but was actually diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.
