Stand Up Comedy - Open Mic Night - Thomas Slovinski

Local open mic stand up performance, March 22, 2009. Some are good, some are terrible. You be the judge.
So I went back to the open mic night, to tape more, and got approached by a handful of the comedians telling me that it was illegal to videotape people doing stand-up comedy. Its not illegal, Im not profiting off of them, its a free show, open to the public without a sign saying not to tape. I actually thought I was doing them a favor. I even received an e-mail thanking me from a couple guys that I uploaded the first week. Needless to say, I wont be posting any new videos of the open mic guys unless they ask me to. And if any of the comedians that are up there want their performance taken off I will, just ask. I didnt know comedians were so sensitive. Frankly, Im a performer as well. And I wish people would come and tape our shows, even if were having an off night. I think it would force me to perform even better. Anyway, my intent wasnt to hurt, it was to show the local talent.

I actually thought this was funnier than most amateur comedians, lacking a bit of energy but a couple of really good jokes

it took a while for the audience to get the first guy. i like dark humour. he has a great dead-pan delivery and doesnt care too much about a cold reaction. good stuff. and it's always good to acknowledge a joke that doesn't go down. good end too. p.s. i think he might be a pedophile. (joke)

i think this guy was actually pretty funny and very witty. and I am a huge Mitch Hedgburg fan and you people really need to stop throwing his name around and camparing everyone to him. this guy is not trying to be like mitch hedgburg this is just a type of comedy style and there are several comedians out there with the same style, Zack Galifinakis, Demitri Martin, ect. I thought this guy was pretty good and with a little more practice i could see him becoming famous.
