@rcbipe It's a while ago you asked this.
But just in case you never got an answer i've just learn't this song and the strum pattern i'm using is DD UU U DUDU . So for the 3 up strums I have a little pause between the second and third. Like frank says everyone probably strums it slightly different but I find that strum works well for the tempo.
I always struggled with rthyme but after practising solid for a couple of years it's become almost second nature. cheers

first let me thank you for putting your self out here and teach us how to play the guitar i just have a question at 2:39 you tell us to strum 2 downs 4 ups 1 down 1 up 1 down then at 4:06 insted of the 9 times we strum you say to strum only 8 times that confused a little since am a beginner so my question is does it make a difference if its 8 or 9 times we strum while changing chords?

If you are new at the guitar you must perfect that first i.e. chord positions, strumming and rythmn. Try to think the melody in your head first. Be disciplined and learn the guitar first. Otherwise, it will all be too hard, and you will be found out, and leaving your guitar under the bed. Hope everyone has a Merry Xmas and a happy guitar new year. FF
