  • NoNoNoNoNo! Dominant 7th's have nothing to do with adding the 7th note from a minor scale to a major chord. The theory stems from harmonising the 5th degree of any major scale into a chord. EG, the 5th degree of C is G. Haromonise the G note with 3rds (as you do all chords) and you arrive at G dominant 7 (G7). Your way of explaining is completely confusing.
