Ist part seems much less dense than second sonata. Less movement ,quieter ,certainly less violent . I adore the second sonata .This I like for very different reasons . This is more outdoors in the modern city music . Very architectural sounding. Its movement movement and rhythms closer to each other .Variation here seems direct not analytical as in the second sonata. I have no idea but it feels cold but surely less nervous. Exterior and surface oriented !
Interchangeable structures, what an interesting concept! I like the quote: "I have often compared this work with the plan of a city. One does not change its design, one perceives exactly what it is, and there are different ways of going through it." How fun it would be if more people experiment with the structure of music like this.
she does a great job, very balanced playing, very distanced what the music needs, that third person subjectivity; it is really gorgeous piece, more positive than the other Sonatas;well some ten years later, different Boulez

@wazpoke Yes, it would be fun, especially if they manage to achieve something beyond a mere mental masturbation.

I love the text boxes you made, good job! I find it hard to enjoy this music thought.
