In 2009, about 200 people "got through to the next round"--i.e., they got at least 2 yeses. However, only 40 were in the semifinals. The yeses were only the first step, not a guarantee of being in the semifinals. There's a clip where the judges tell everyone who got through whether they would be in the semifinals. A lot of good acts didn't make it; a lot did.
