7 tons!?! ha more like 55 to 60 tons. It depends on the size of the furnace and ladle.

A "zoever" is not more than a slagexplosion.
Wich is produced by an awfully lot of hydrogen.
The thing you mentioned, was an explosion caused by a bad scrapmenu and lot of other things. three persons who where not supposed to be there, caught injured. (buiten firma) Last saturday it happened again...

Right. I have worked in a oxygen steel plant. A blob of liquid steel will burn any protective clothing if it gets to stay on long enough...

One seems to be out of order? There has been a 'zoever' (don't know the english word) which causes some damage?

Huh... I had expected a bit more... Basic oxygen process delivers a 325tons in 40minutes. And that's 1 "converter"
At corus we have 3 of those.
