Christmas in Killarney is an Irish Christmas song written by John Redmond, James Cavanaugh and Frank Weldon copyright, 1950. There are a few versions of this song available by Bing Crosby, the Irish Rovers and others but, in my humble opinion, this Dennis Day version is the best that was ever recorded. He recorded this as an RCA Victor single in 1950 which reached the top 10 of Billboard's retail chart. I grew up listening to this song on the Reader's Digest Christmas song, record collection titled 'Joyous Noel'. I hope you all enjoy this great, classic song!
you've never known. It's Christmas in Killarney with all of the folks at home. Oh Christmas in Killarney with all of the folks at home!

The holly green the ivy green the prettiest picture you've ever seen. It's Christmas in Killarney with all of the folks at home. It's nice you know to kiss your beau while cuddling under the mistletoe and Santa Claus you know, of course, is one of the boys from home. The door is always open, the neighbors pay a call and Father John, before he's gone, will bless the house and all. How grand it feels to click your heels and joining the fun of the jigs and reels and handing you a Blarney the lights

Oh my god, I've been looking for this version for years! My grandmother had it on vinyl and I always made her play it whenever I visited, even in the summer :P It's still a thing my mom likes to tease me about.

Thanks mvwade. MaskanRill, I learned the riffs as follows. No promises, but they sound right to me. 1) "There was Cousin O’Flaherty, Uncle O’Shaughnessy, Michael me brother, & Auntie Magee, & Father & Mother were all in a dither when Terence the baby crawled under the tree." 2) - "Twas Patty Delahanty who dressed up like Santy & gave out the presents like he always does. But Johnny Magee, when he sat on his knee tried to pull off his whiskers to see who it was." Merry Christmas!

I need the lyrics to his little rap breaks :P You cannot find them anywhere on the internet... which is pretty difficult to believe.

Yay! I found it! Thank you so much for posting this! When I was a wee child my father put our favorite Christmas songs onto a tape simply labeled "Christmas Music." I grew up loving this version and could never seem to find another like it! Now I know who did it! Thank you!
