Learn how the Nexus 3000 Series Switches, the ultimate low latency switches, extend innovation into the high-frequency trading (HFT) market as part of the Cisco high-performance trading fabric.
The Cisco Nexus 3064 Switch is a compact 1RU form factor switch that delivers ultralow latency and wire-rate Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching on a data-center-class Cisco NX-OS operating system.

I was kind of hoping they'll use the commodity SoCs on this beast and hook it up with NXOS on control plane. The OpenStack and OpenFlow will sooner or later make the the features irrelevant. Still it's a nice box though.

Speed is always a tricky one. Yes it is the fastest Nexus product. But also the fastest in like class (port density, capacity, feature set, etc...) It's easy to increase speed of any product by stripping it down. But in the end that's like comparing a Funny Car to a standard car. Sure they both be Camaros but come on man!
In the end, it's which product has the best latency without sacrificing features for work arounds and best for your IT staff to support.

When mentioned that this was the fastest switch out, was that in reference to the Nexus product line or as it relates to 48 port switches? The Arista 7124SX has faster latency, however, it's a smaller switch.
I'd love to hear some thoughts.
