@Umpqua1012 Well spotted! You're right, I was using gentle sarcasm. Apologies if this threw anyone off the scent. At no point did I actually think it was down to ghostly activity. Next time I will include one of these ;-) to avoid confusion.

@misspdalbump There are 4 foghorns on the bridge; 2 Leslie tyfons on the south tower; and two diaphones on the mid-span; and nothing on the north tower. The foghorns you hear in this video are the tyfons on the south tower.

I'm from SF and used to fall asleep to the foghorn. I'm in GA now, and was feeling a little homesick. This made my evening. :) Thanks!
