The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency is holding an untold number of people in secretively maintained detention facilities all over the United States. Thats according to an explosive report thats the cover story of the latest issue of The Nation magazine. They also report that ICE agents regularly impersonate civilians and rely on other illegal tricks to arrest longtime US residents who have no criminal history. We speak with the author of the two-part investigation, Jacqueline Stevens.

  • @1980vince hope Jesus takes your job! hahahaha

  • mexicans are well aware of your false religion.stupid white no culture shit. we all know including your pathetic ugly white race has always been evil.

  • Those religious workers are breaking the law, you get to go to jail until the law is changed. It isn't okay to break the law when you disagree with the law. A congressmen wants more voters plain and simple. People who look like him that will be grateful. Immigration reform simply means giving people a pass, and not changing anything. It is a joke.

  • @Symbolc0729 Yes I've read it as well and I don' think it is any great legal violation to say the founders meant citizens of the United States. It has always been the case, but now lawyers who can't stand "injustice" are looking for a legal shortcut. I'm not worrying about the rights of millions of criminals. Progressives, wow they simply want more voters who will go with them. Don't want to be detained, it is simple, don't come here illegally. The answer is troops on the border.

Take too long to explain the patriot act but you can just go to the wiki page for it. Section 802 covers the use on American citizens.

The enemy belligerents interrogation and detention act of 2010 is specifically for Americans and it contradicts with the 5th amendments double jeopardy..not to mention that it also allows you to be held indefinitely after being acquitted.

The first amendment was a bad example. Ill give you another one.

I had to memorize it in military school. Yea...I have read it. Have you? Find the word citizen

1st:Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

If you dont know the patriot act had been restructured to be used on American citizens...

  • @Symbolc0729 Have you actually read the constitution? The people is clearly citizens. To me it makes very clear that foreign citizens don't have the same rights as American citizens, but you can't do anything you want to them either. Historically Amistad case ruled about illegal confinement, but that is not what the government is doing. Also those acts you mentioned, where is the documentation that they're used on US citizens? I never hear that from those complaining.

  • @NJburbsSeeker

You are in denial. Our constitution protects persons.. not just citizens. This is why this precedent cannot go on. As of right now corporations have the same right as a person but for some reason a person who is not from America isnt being granted these protections.

You are not affected right now but you dont seem to understand that these things always grow to encompass the entire American population i.e.:

    Patriot act.

    Enemy Belligerent interrogation act

    All used on Americans.
