  • I like how when the state needs money, education is the first thing to take a hit. Classy as hell.

  • Outrageous, pathetic move by the school board. Our only consolation - the people who made this bad decision are going to have to live in the future they helped create. Let's hope the population is educated enough to know who to blame. Oh, I suppose that problem's solved. It's too much to hope that their own consciences will catch up with them. I guess it really is just the children who will suffer for this.

  • Layoffs don't just hurt the person being laid off. There are a lot of dummies who don't understand how their neighbor losing a job hurts them. When a person can no longer contribute to their local economy it hurts local businesses which results in other people being laid off. So in a nutshell if one person is laid off it will ultimately lead to other people being laid off. Wake up dummies and stop thinking other people's problems don't affect you.

  • @moothacow You got to be joking or full of crap, maybe both. You say "they make" as if all teachers are paid the same, that's obviously not the case. Eight months of what? Eight months of teaching/ babysitting/ security work / taking papers home to work over each night and weekends/ cleaning the class rooms and there is so much more including out of pocket expenses for things the school district does not supply. Not only is your statement unqualified, it lacks any substance or detail.

  • Government can't run our central banks, public schools, etc Anarcho-capitalism 2012

  • Dear Teachers,

I as a parent want to say how sorry I am about these layoffs. You put up with low salaries and worked hard. So, this must be disappointing to you.

But, please keep in mind that you have a very high place in our hearts and most of us will do anything to support you.

Please do not give you, children and their education is our future!

  • Public schools are a joke anyway. Teachers complain all the time they are not paid enough. They make 70k for 8 months work.

  • Before cutting teachers how many of the school board members voted to reduce their salaries or expenses? !00 people surveyed top answer on the board

A big fat NONE they all want more money at the teachers expense. They could have thought about reducing board members or reducing the work week for Administration with rotating days off to reduce costs nope just get rid of the front line teachers Arnold you need to get back to the gym you`ve shown you cant Govern

  • That sucks two of my favorite teachers got pink slips. :(

  • fuck u

  • bs dumb ass
