@Chickenjuggle well, its just a movie for entertaining us, not to be followed and do in our daily life :/

@2wingo I wouldn't say those passages make defensive killing permissible. It may be the version I have, but Christ thinks quite the opposite of Peter's attack on the guard.
Furthermore, premeditated killing is widely considered murder (by US law, correct?), regardless of whether or not it is for the good of the people. People may argue that manslaughter, execution, and self-defense are exceptions, but that's not what they do in this movie at all.

@Chickenjuggle Luke 22:35-39, Luke 22:49-53, Matthew 26:51-56, and John 18:10-11 make it clear that, while killing in the defense of others is permissible, it is not the best course of action and should never be one's first choice. There are a LOT of Old Testament verses that also make it clear that, while it is good to have weapons and fighting skill, it is EXTREMELY important that they be used correctly.

@Chickenjuggle The 6th Commandment is better translated from Hebrew to English as "Thou Shalt Not Commit Murder." Jesus Himself named situations where killing another human being is permissible, though not encouraged.
