This video is being run throughout the state of South Carolina to inform the citizens about the Move Over Law passed in 2003. If you encounter Police, Fire, EMS, or South Carolina DOT workers while driving our state roads you must move over into the next lane. If you can not move over you are required to slow down and proceed with caution.

You should give everyone who has or may be stopped on the side of the road for any reason the same courtesy.

  • Your parents should have taught you to do this when you learned to drive. You should have the courtesy to move over or slow down for anyone and everyone on the side of the road, It could be you.

  • I know one thing you better move over when Im out there! I am a Police Officer and I will give you a ticket!

  • Can I laugh?

  • @ylen13 I'm sorry that you can't be inconvenienced enough to slow down or pull over for emergency responders. Please at least do us the courtesy of posting this opinion of us conspicuously on your car so that we will make sure to not risk our lives to help you when you are in a wreck. I don't want to be inconvenienced by your emergency.

  • @ylen13 nor do i care that you are breathing. the fact that you are a F%#$ing troll that will undoubtedly call us to help you for some benign idiotic reason is even less gratifying.

  • @ylen13 It's that mindset that killed a 23 y/o Firefighter from SC. We can't help you or anyone else if we are dead!!!!

  • @ylen13 It's not a request; it's the law. It's the law in a lot of states now. And the ticket isn't what you should be worried about, it's killing someone with your car.

  • I think this should be released again. Following the Events of Saturday November 13, 2010. Thinking of the Brothers and Sisters of Columbia Fire Dept.

  • @SSC20091 > '.. you better move over ..'

LOL. Well, I was doing 100mph just a few moments before, so I did comply with this particular law by slowing down to 90mph while passing by. Okay, not true, but I really hate obstinate jugheads with a badge and attitude - and the SCHP seems to attract only that type.

  • Yes! I'll b laughing myself.
