From a 400-years-old Ming Dynasty sword manual 單刀法選, this is about 1/3rd of the full-length routine documented. I only interpreted and demonstrated up to the end of 3 straight thrusts, which is named "3 Thrusts to the Japanese", as this manual was written during the time when Japanese pirates attacked parts of China.

This is from "Sword of the Stranger". =)

  • Good job. Your moves are getting better. My suggestion: Though 單撩刀and 單回刀 use only right hand to handle the saber, the left shall support the right hand, or wave in opposite direction so to the balance the saber. The idea is best describe in 通臂拳. Treat your two arms as one. The ultimate goal is make the whole body move as one saber. (全身是一刀)
