Ady Gil Being Rammed by Japanese Whalers

Sea Shepherd ship Ady Gil Rammed and sunk by Japanese Whaler ship Shonan Maru No. 2 on January 6, 2010. As a result of this hit, the Ady Gil sustained heavy damage. All of the six Ady Gil crew members were rescued by the Sea Shepherd's new vessel, the Bob Barker. One crew member sustained broken ribs in this collision. An attempt was made to tow the Ady Gil to port, but the lines kept snapping as she took on water, and she finally sunk in the Southern Ocean the day after this incident.
