It's named CBU-97/105 BLU-108 also known as sensor fuzed weapon. It's built by Textron and it's the first of its kind. Each of the five cylinders in the front can be seen breaking away, and the other five in the back are soon to follow. Within each of these 10 cylinders are 4 seperate warheads , which makes for 40 individual war heads. The computer onboard each of the 40 then activates a thermal image recognition system which is active for only seconds. Long enough to determine whats an enemy tank or truck and whats ground or trees and the like. This weapon is currently in use and is meant to destroy convoys of enemy troops and supplies.

  • that's evil......

  • This is a major reason I want to join the Air Force

  • i love this weapon.

  • @elgostine but it´s not from adrenaline :-)

  • @corporacionmonstruo oh trust me fella, I get pleasure out of adrenaline. out of sparring and fighting, its such a rush

having even paintballs fly past your head is enough to make me smile ear to ear

  • @elgostine adrenaline do not cross the Blood-brain-barrier and don´t produce pleassure.

  • @roundtreerandomz123 its not what happens is like an RPG the small can shaped cylinders detonate that essentially funnells the copper into an armour piercing moletn metal lance essentially, there is some fragmentation, but if it doesnt find a target, its supposed to immediately self destruct, while still in midair,

my understanding is that cluster bombs are essentially can filled with little grenades..

  • @corporacionmonstruo combat is still a massive adrenalin rush

  • @wild50gunner Yeah, but armour can be used to stop -anything-, so long as you pile enough of it onto a vehicle. Though I agree it might not be upto tank-hunting if used against a 1st world military power, it'll certainly tear through the older stuff with ease.

  • mighty impressive.
