  • I used to follow the Soul Survivors and got to talk to Richie Ingui during one of the breaks at a club in the Bronx ny. I was just starting to learn playing the organ. On the floor in front of us was a Hammond B-3 organ that Richie told me was the caddilac of organs and nothing could compare to it. The following week I bought a Hammond C-3 which although looked different offered the same exact sound. I was on my way to become a full time musician in a band called Nirvana from Queens NY.

  • Backed these guys up twice. (York PA & Poconos) They sound better than ever, and are the easiest people to work with. Hope to do more soon!

  • i like this song....never heard it before... is it called "City of brotherly Love"? i'm 30 so i never really got to live through those 60 and 70 years..... I want so bad for philadelphia to have that again...be big... they need more stars, fresh stars to come out of there...

  • Great sound. His voice has so much emotion and great feeling to it. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for the memories. Back in the 60s when I lived near Philly, my band played a few life songs at a "record hop". The Soul Survivors were the the guest stars, and their organ player pretended to play my guitar while they lip sync "Expressway". It's given me a good story to tell for the last 40 years.

  • man!..these guys can DO IT!!!!!!

  • Yeah, I was there too ... GOOD TIMES ! Even after all these years, the Ingui brothers' harmonies are better than ever.

Rock on, Charlie & Richie !

  • This is real nice. i just happen to stumble across this. I did'nt know they had a docummentary on the soul survivors. Thank's for posting this

  • I remember seeing the Soul Survivors at the Thrill Show at JFK in 1967. They completely destroyed the stage and had the plug pulled on them by the Philadelphia Police. Still ranks as one of my favorite rock and roll moments!!!!

  • I liked the clip! They still sound good!
