Bike Parade on Earth Day

This is how we, at D. João II Secondary School , in Setúbal, celebrated Earth Day 2008. Jaime Pinho, one of the teachers, came up with the idea, which he had been nursing for a long time, of organizing a bike parade across the city. Students, teachers and other staff joined in and, with the help of the Traffic Police and the Safe School Programme, off we went and had lots of fun. So much so that we are planning to do it again soon, to show everybody how cool it is to leave the car at home and ride a bike to school, to work or to go shopping. Stay tuned.
