The price of a stick is paid for the housing, not for the control parts. The reason why TE is more expensive is not because of Sanwa parts. That's just a marketing trick. Sanwa parts are inexpensive. You pay for the huge & heavy housing that it has. The HORI EX2 and Mad Catz SE sticks are much more affordable because of the modest housing that comes with them. But using an EX2 with Sanwa does make it a very good stick though. Let's hope your order arrives soon.
@seekerjet i just order my ex2 and im not even going to try and play it as soon as it get here im going to mod it and you'll save more money on buying and new madcatz because all u need is the stick itself and sanwa buttons and stick. i like the 6 buttons layout and thats all you need ever since i got a fighting stick i got hook pretty badly and just play notting else but ssf4 lol
I don't need to look it up ;) I know what you mean. What I'm saying is: low-budget: HORI & Mad Catz both are bad, mid-range: HORI is good and Mad Catz is bad, high-end: HORI is excellent and Mad Catz only has 1 good stick (TE). Mad Catz lacks good mid-range, but at high-end the TE is a joke compared to VLX.
@seekerjet you get wut u pay for and if u buy a cheap stick like the ex2 than you need to mod it to sanwa because madcatz use all sanwa and if you dont care about the money than look for the best fighting stick ever built witch is the hori real arcade pro ex premium vlx ,,,look it up but im telling thay hori are better sticks than madcatz
By the way, not every HORI product is good. The HORI Tekken 6 has sticking, unresponsive buttons, a bad quality stick and it stops working after 2 months. Every HORI Tekken 6 stick owner that I talked to said their stick broke in 2 months.
I have a Mad Catz TE stick (I had 2 but sold the 360 version) and a HORI RAP.EX Premium VLX. The VLX is far superior to the TE, it's even pointless to compare the two. The TE stick has no real flaws though, except the cheaply made cable door of which the closing tab can break easily. For the price, the TE is 100% worth the purchase. There is nothing bad about the TE. Nowadays, I use this TE for multi-console (I modded it). I exclusively use the HORI RAP.EX Premium VLX for SSFIV.
Got your pm. Thanks Seekerjet
