The Engine awards is a private enterprise. Besides how many people actually get convinced to buy a car because it won an Engine award. People are more compelled to buy a car based on racing achievements. As the saying goes, "Win on Sunday Sell on Monday". And in racing, Mercedes-Benz success is waaayyy beyond BMWs reach.

This is a huge lie, Mercedes has always out-beaten any car manufacturer for 125 years, after all they are the inventors of the automobile, and they will beat any other car for another 125 years!

@W3STCOAST3R The chrome thing was just an american point of view, the language thing was something you use just because you CANT probe wath you are saying so you tend to insult people.

The sales ratio is NOT 2 to 1, remember, outside texas there is something called WORLD and it has 7000 million of people, the US only has 300 millon, so the sales ratio in the US doesn´t mean anything for a worldwide car industry.

@W3STCOAST3R It out does the Mercedes only in sportiness in sedans, in coupes is fairly equal and in supercars... Ohhh bmw doens´t make supercars... they don´t know how to... But as i was saying, since I use my sedan for going from point A to B in they city or highway i dont need a sport car for traveling since arriving 4 seconds earlier to the mall it doesn´t make any difference. --> Continued-->

@COCOT20 Ya IDC about what you like everyone is entitled to their own opinion, YOU decided to reply to my comment trying to make my preferences look bad even though BMW is a very good car and out does Mercedes in several aspects, then you took it to f1 racing, then chrome, then the english language, and then ride quality, the basic proof the BMW>Benz is the 2:1 sale ratio, and no the prices are not the reason because both are remotely close in price for almost every model

The only Mercedes that have chrome parts are the ones for the american market (Because thats what the americans want´s) The Euro models (like the sell in my country) don´t have soo much chrome.

For ME Mercecedes has a matchless ride and feel, for me is the perfect car for everyday, and i dont give a shit if the engine has won 2 or 78 awards, for me It´s better.

@COCOT20 I'm no redneck my parents are immagrants. I am not a fan of BMW solely based on performance numbers and shiny parts (even though mercedes adds on chrome everywhere they can so your talking about the wrong car?) the looks, the feel and the soul of BMW can not be immatated and that is what I love about BMW
