@AndyMcNabStab It's to give the modern viewer an equivalent. I.e. the soldiers they're telling us about were the 1066 equivalent of the soldiers with 'm16s' in the background. For Andy McNab, I'm surprised you can't even tell that it's an SA80 not an M16.......
