Often described as the "Essence of Arizona Golf", Longbow Golf Club serves up an desert golf experience that is firmly tied to the traditions of the game. Purists appreciate the beauty and challenge of Longbow's core-golf experience: no homes or roads intrude on the interior of the playing field. And short distances from green to the next tee make walking a pleasure. Golfing guests at the Ken Kavanaugh-designed, Longbow are typically awe-struck by the sweeping views of nearby mountain ranges (including Red Mountain, the McDowells, Usery Mountains , and Superstitions). Golfweek magazine honored Longbow in 2009 as one of the "Top 100 Resort Courses in the Country" and more recently the same publication ranked Longbow as one of the Top 20 Best Public Access Courses in Arizona for 2010. It has hosted many prestigious tournaments including numerous Gateway Tour events, the US Amateur qualifying, and the AJGA Winn Grips Heather Farr Classic presented by Longbow (past champions include the likes of current PGA TOUR professional and 2010 Waste Management Phoenix Open Champion, Hunter Mahan, reigning 2010 U.S. Women's Open Champion, Paula Creamer and more. And speaking of junior golf, Longbow is now a satellite First Tee facility and is home to the OB Sports Golf Academy.
Got to play Longbow this year during my visit to AZ.....without a doubt, one of the best courses I've played. Great staff, excellent conditioning and lots of fun for a great price. One of my new favorites in the state of Arizona.
