Microwaves are electromagnetic waves, just like visible light or sound waves. Like sound waves, they can display constructive or destructive interference. Two microwave beams, having slightly different frequencies, will produce a beat pattern, as shown in this video, with the beat frequency equaling the difference of the frequencies of the two waves that are beating.
