That was pretty detailed for a "guess." Also very wrong. Just play story mode through with Hitomi to unlock Ein.

No, look it up it IS a glitch, as when that happened, the animation scene of Ein should have came on and put him tumbling to the bottom, and continued the fight from the bottom. So yes, they shouldn't die, but it is supposed to take Ein down the stairs, you aren't supposed to be able to fight on the stairs, it is also clearly a glitch due to the health and combo meter etc. Or was it just chance they both happened at the same time ?

that's not a glitch, it happened to me
The game is programmed to not let people die on the interactive enviroment bits
