We saw Nora Jane for the first time this past weekend. I wished, she and the Bootleggers were playing more shows in our area. We might consider the 9 hour drive to North Carolina to catch the performance there. We really enjoyed the show!

Cont'd (from below?): And, btw, if you're gonna git courtin' w/ somebody like that 'over the mountain' dude, dangit gal, I would throw in strings of pearls, purty bangled shoes and sandals, a mountaintop log house next to a shimmering lake, and, and, 'n, 'n, well, lots of other wonderful stuff. (U deserve beaucoup happiness in return for what u create). If u get hitched and have a family, some guy is gonna be mighty lucky and those kids will realize later how lucky they are, too... Jim

U are one busy, talented, creative and energetic lady. Loved yr voice from the gitgo at Ihor & Marisha's place. More I've heard others, the more I realize how good u are. It's nice to be able to understand words being sung. Tg u decided to forego teaching in Brooklyn, BUT u are STILL teaching in a way - and learning, too. Did u sing to yr munchkins in Brklyn? If yes, lucky them and hope they appreciated it. If not, well how unfortunate for them. Jim...

my name is Nora Jane too! I am 6 and a half. Your singing is very nice.

Let me carry you off over the mountain. I'd be good to you. Shoes in the winter. A few yards of calico and some penny candy from town now and then. The works.

I love your voice...

Yesterday, I played this song for my twins while their mama fed them lunch. We sang along, they smiled, and then just bounced in their chairs. I said, "Just wait til you hear "Cowgirl Yodel #3." : )

Beautiful singing as usual, and fantastic use of a partial capo, something I don't think I've ever seen before. Missed hearing you sing at Mount Airy this year.

I just loooove your performance of this!!! My group does a version of "Hush Little Baby" with little bits of "Clementine" and "You Are My Sunshine"...it was a sweet surprise when "Hush..." came later in this song!! Is this version the original way it was done. or is it your medley?? In any case...it's great!!!
Thanks! You know, I think this song is so old that nobody know how it was originally done. I learned it from a friend--which is the best way to learn a song in my opinion. I do know Tommy Jerrell did an uptempo version of this song with banjo accompaniment.
anyhow, thanks for listening and commenting!
