"Ballad of the Maiden in Love" - 3rd movement of the "El Decameron Negro" composed by Leo Brouwer.

El Decamerón Negro (The Black Decameron) is a collection of epic tales from the tribes of Africa as recorded by the renowned German anthropologist, Leo Frobenius (1873-1938) during his journey at the beginning of the century.

Cuban composer and guitarist Leo Brouwer was inspired by these tales as he composed and titled the three movements of this solo guitar as The Harp of the Warrior, The Flight of the Lovers through the Valley of the Echoes, and Ballad of the Maiden in Love to create a three-dimensional musical story about an African legendary warrior who became a musician.
