This game is M for Mature.

Myth II: Soulblighter is a 1998 real-time tactics computer game for the PC and Macintosh developed by Bungie. It is a sequel to Myth: The Fallen Lords and second game in the Myth series, release on November 30, 1998.

Like previous the installment, Myth II is a real-time tactics where players are given a pre-determined selection of units with their own strengths and weakness, without the option to recruit any further units later in battle, emphasizing the strategy aspect of the gameplay.

60 years after the Great War and the fall of Balor the Leveler, the remaining armies of the CathBruig Empire lead by Alric have managed to restore their lands, with the once fallen city of Madrigal now standing as the capital. The forces of the Dark are only a few scattered remnants, however, the fates of Balor's generals - Soulblighter, Shiver and the Deceiver - are still unknown.

  • @AntiMatter3000 actually Myth had good music and I enjoyed the gameplay. To me graphics aren't that important, of course this is a matter of opinion so I understand your views on this. My original comment was just pointing at how developers seemed to make things that look pretty but are A) broken to the point where it causes system failure and/or B) lacking in depth or content.

  • @JohnShadowblade There are tons of games with great storylines..you're just so stuck up with nostalgia you just don't want to believe it..

Games back then at the worst had: bad graphics, bad music, bad button lay out, and bad gameplay.

Games today at the worst have : good graphics, bad music, bad button lay outs, and bad gameplay:

One positive attribute beats out none.

The best of todays games are better than games of the past, and the worst of todays games are better than the past.

  • @AntiMatter3000 I don't mean that all games back then were perfect or that today's games are crap(Skyrim Fan). All I'm saying is that I haven't seen a game that has as good of a story. I really don't know what it is but most of today's games seem like they're missing something.

  • @JohnShadowblade A lot of games are as good as games back then... there were a lot of bad games back then like it was a lot of bad games being made now.. I hate people who think everything in the past has to be better

  • This is what originally got me into games. It's sad to say that I have yet to find one with as good content in all these years. Thumbs up if you think game makers should look back at these kinds of titles to make a good game.

  • @DigitalDionysusPro Certainly. If Take 2 had extensive expertise with publishing, marketing, maintaining enormously popular MMOs. But it doesn't. ActiBlizzard most definitely does. And THAT'S where Bungie is taking us.

  • I can definitely hear the Halo music evolving out of that. <3

  • How come we didn't get that badass of an intro for the Halo games?

  • @skyfox5

Back when you could play games on the Mac without getting laughed at.

  • @DoctorSalt

I think Bungie should have signed a contract with Take 2 Games rather than Activision. I mean they own the rights to two of Bungie's franchises, and unlike Activision and EA, Take 2 isn't know for being an evil, greedy publisher.

I think it would have been a smarter idea.
