WORDS AND MUSIC BY DONNA FISK and MICHAEL CRISTIAN

Well the crowd falls silent as the mayor takes the stage He says, "Ladies and Gentlemen, it's one of my more pleasurable duties
to draw the raffle on this very special day". When the wheel stops spinning there's a squeal from Mrs. Price She wins two bags of 'tatas and three crays on ice That's made her night It's no Oleander No creeper on your verandah It's no Macadamia We'll go nuts a little later We'll all be dancing from dusk til' dawn At the Boobyalla country ball

Mrs. Mildred Brown is baking up her duck egg sponge She's filling it up with cream I'm gonna get me some Sergeant Drew is gonna bring along his home made beer It tastes real good but that brew ain't too clear Pass it over here Well you sure can't smoke it Or build with the wood It don't make jam Cause it don't taste too good

It happens every year
When it's starting to flower
There's people coming in
By the hour
It's a festival to celebrate a plant
It's the emblem of our town
And we're proud about that It's no Jacaranda
No creeper on your verandah It's no Eucalyptus There's no koalas in it No Blackeyed Susan No Kangaroo Paw It's the Boobyalla Country Ball
