  • @GenericAuthenticity I would have to say 1997. Stone Cold made rumblings in 1996 but 1997 mainly because more people became edgier rather than just one person being edgy in 1996. In 1997 you had DX. You had more renegade gimmicks like New Age Outlaws. You had Stone Cold becoming more mean. You had the Screwjob stemming from the real rivalry of Shawn and Bret. You had Hunter breaking out. Rock joining the Nation. It became a fad to be more controversial and edgy in 1997 which is why AE started.

  • The best version of DX was this 1 u had HBK,HHH,Chyna and Rick Rude just epic.

  • @psychomaniac76584 DX was no ripoff of nwo, both groups were orchestrated toghether by shawn,nash,x-pac,hhh,and scott hall when they were known as "the kliq" in wwf. They were gonna start DX than nash, hall, and pac went to wcw where they started nwo & shawn and hhh started DX. But if pac, hall, and nash never left wwf they would of all been in DX, that's why you sometimes hear DX refer to themselves as "the kliq" the same name as nwo referred to themselves as.

  • @psychomaniac76584 WWF's In Your Houses always did ppvs themed on one of their superstars though. In Your House Rock Bottom, In Your House Beware of Dog.

  • @psychomaniac76584 Not really there were only three people in DX and they just had fun with everything. NWO had like 50 members and tried to take over WCW.

  • @Laminateddeffect Well actually there are a few events that you can count as the full mark of the AE. Like you said, Austin's first title reign, or Austin giving the infamous "Austin 3:16" speech. But the reason why it's official starting is 1997 is cos of the Montreal Screwjob. The first time a superstar legitimately got screwed on a live event...very notorious moment that allowed Vince to shift into the attitude feel. But I do agree with you though, Austin definitely brought it into full gear.

  • @GenericAuthenticity I hear that alot that the attitude era kicked off in 1997 but in my opinion I will always see the attitude era "officially" starting when Austin won the titled @WM 14. there was somethin about that win that just felt right and it truly did feel like a new era ushering in the wwf. though iam more of an HBK fan than Austin, i do think HBK jumpstarted the attitude feel but with austin as champion, it went into full gear.Thats just my opinon though

  • The guy who did the initial voiceover does voicework for the PGA Tour. It's kind of weird to hear.

  • Badass Promo. DX DX DX!!!
