@k2needja I agree for the most part, but there is this one line:
"Every once in a while, I think about her smile. One of the things I do miss."
He's definitely talking about a spiritual journey, but his destination is on this planet. He's moving on, while maintaining hope that the person he loves will come back to him, but in a different spiritual place.
"I promise I'll be waiting for you."
"I'm sure they'll have a place for you too."
He's not dieing and hes talking a woman.

@holyhandgrenade3 i saw a slightly different interpretation. i looked at it as his spiritual growth. he's found a path to walk and he's prepared to walk it alone. hes prepared to focus on himself leave all of those that would deter him from it. when he gets to that spiritual place, and ultimately heaven, he'll be waiting for those ready. i'm not religious, that's just what i got from it. the death theory makes except for being prepared to go alone...we have no choice.
