  • hello Davie, do you supply tying materials, if not would you mind telling me where you get them from, they look far superior to the ones i get sent through the post !

  • Hi eugene1334,

I'm sorry I don't sell materials, most of the materials I used in the video I dyed myself but if you are looking for good hair then try FoxyTails and for the front hackle Lakeland..If you find something and you're not sure send me a link and I'll tell you if it's good or not...

    All the best Davie

  • hi i was just wondering if you know how to tie the toucan salmon fly? i heard this fly was catching a lot of fish last season and would be very keen to tie one but cant find a video.

  • Hi robbiemenzies,

You are about the third person that has asked me about this fly and all I have saw is a picture of a fly that's like a big black pennell but I could be wrong as there's not much or any info on it. If you can get a dressing then I would be happy to tye it for you....

    All the best Davie

  • Hi Davie, could you make a video showing how to tie the Green Spey salmon fly ? I can't find any. The fly is very simple if you don't know the pattern I'll send you link with a picture of it and the materials needed.

    Many thanks,

    Nicolas

  • Hi Nicolas(StcroixNick),

Please send the link as I would be very interested in tying it as my next spey fly...ATB Davie

  • Davie,

Burnt spey hackles are hackles that have had the barbs prepared and pre separated for ease of tying. Example of this would be goose shoulder for hackles. I hope that this helps

  • Hi David,

Burnt orange just means a dark and stronger colour that's how it gets it's name..

    All the best Davie
