I'm sad Marissa & Brooke had to leave, they should've been on Unfinished Business. They worked really hard, never argued during the race, and had a smile and had fun on each leg of the race.

Yeah that is Phil's dad. Phil's parents actually live about 5 houses down from where I live. Its not in the North Island though (where this part of the race was).

I dunno...after seeing the finale Sunday night: I distinctly saw Phil wipe a tear off when the separated couple re-affirmed their marriage and donned their rings once more. That's hardly 'heartless' in my book.

In this case, in NZ, I think Phil's Dad simply took him by surprise.
