Bar coding is the most common ID technology providing timely, error-free information that can be used to accurately verify routine business transactions and increase productivity. In fact, barcodes are very much like Morse Code. Rather than using a series of dots and dashes, the barcode analogously uses wide and narrow bars and spaces to encode information.

Get an overview on the basics of a barcode, barcoding and barcode scanners... ideal if you're just trying to learn and understand barcodes or about a barcode scanner.

  • Do a presentation of barcode software so we cann se how it works. Database...etc.

  • @neXus200xx Thanks for the tip. It's definitely something we'll consider as we plan future videos.

  • @WaspBarcode

No problem, I wanted to see how it works, so I've downloaded demo. But somehow it won't start. Actually it does, but cannot connect to wasp database service, even though it is started in services. Nor even when try to set it manually after.

But I would like to see it in action, how to create barcodes....etc. Because our company wants to buy reader, printer and software to catalogue our equipment, from chairs to electronics (PC, fax, printers.....etc)

  • @neXus200xx Thanks for letting us know. Your best option would be to contact our technical support team by phone at 1-866-547-9277.

  • do bar codes set off alrams

  • Barcodes by themself do not set off alarms... they are just graphical representation of a number or alphanumeric string.

However, barcodes are also used an "entry point" or "look up link" to a database that is associated with that particular barcode. In this database, more information about this item can be stored.

Furthermore, with some additinal software progamming, an action could be created after a barcode is read by the database... that could trigger an action like an alarm

  • I think I have read about bar-codes in revelation 13...

Haha I don't think they are evil. But when I buy a multi-pack or something I get the feeling i'm paying for the label rather than the items, although currency is just aggrandised paper and numbers so the nature of trade is illogical from the outside...i'm going to stop before I go too ocd
