@Gihnmilden It's a hot spring, iceland is a lot warmer than places at the latitude normally are since it sits on top of an enormous magma plume; the name of this place is about as misleading as Greenland.

@LetMeBeMe The Blue Lagoon has this "silica" available for the patrons, there are several buckets located in the pool. The white mineral consisting of silica; found in volcanic rocks, is similar to a facial scrub and your skin feels soft and wonderful after. Try not to leave it on too long. I'm not going to say there are healing powers to the stuff, it just adds fun to the experience of being there.
