There are lots of places you can find official information about what's happening to General Motors right now. In addition to www.gm.com/restructuring, GM has also launched a new website called re:invention. Already stocked with announcements and explanations regarding the company's filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this morning, the website also features a handy, dandy commercial that boils down the essentials to bite-sized, bumper sticker slogans.

The minute-long commercial, which can be viewed after the jump, admits right off the bat that "No company wants to go through this," and goes on to frame the situation like this: "GM needs to start over in order to get stronger." Amidst a siezure-inducing barrage of scenes from Americana, the narrator explains in a nutshell that the old way wasn't working and the new way will be "Leaner, Greener, Faster, Smarter."

everyone needs to stop with this bullshit on which american car company is better! ANY AMERICAN car is good in my book people need to stop saying ford is better then dodge and chevy is better then all i personally am i a chevy guy but i respect anyone in an american car because they are helping put american cars back on american roads and giving americans jobs now if you drive one of those jap crap cars and are american i have 0 respect for you beacuse you are an american and should buy american

@SmithDetroit1 Not sure what i orgininally said, I cant find it. All I know is American cars suck, and thats not just my opinion. Its fact. Theres a reason GM almost went out of buisness, and would have if they didnt get a fat check from the gov. Theres a reason toyota and honda have won car of the year for like the past 15 years.

Well you say you are wanting to argue but you keep replying. Also in my opinion if the profit for a Japanese company goes over seas you cannot say the money will not get recycled into our economy. They will open up more plants here as demand increases.

It sounds like you are just jealous that a company from overseas is here and started to do a better job than one of your favourite companies.

That is my opinion. GM may still have more manufacturing jobs in the States but Toyota

@dynomite1988 I'm not wanting to argue or anything but since the big three struggled, toyota has become the largest motor company in the world since gm tanked. I understand it's really good toyota has put some jobs in the U.S but GM and Ford still have way more auto production in the states despite their four plants in Mexico and Canada. And in my honest opinion i would much rather profits go to the big 3 because it will get recycled through the U.S economy to help us out. That's just my opinion
