Chang, our Snowshoe cat, is 15 years old in this video compilation. He was a stray that we rescued in 1994, and he is the love of our life.

Snowshoes are thee most awesome kitties! It's funny how so many of them are boundless purrrsonalities, are very doggie like & follow us around, come when called & play fetch. Most love getting brushed or combed & are blabbermouths.  My Edgrrr was a rescue in 2002 & while he's an older puss & takes cardiac meds (stage 3/4 murmur), he's still playful, goofy & very active. Is Chang still with you? Here's hoping he is & stays with you for a long time. >^._.^<

@kerry5101971 Hi, thanks for your comment! I too adore snowshoes! I had never heard of the breed until we found Chang when we went camping in August 1994. He and his littermates had been abandoned at the campground. All the kittens in the litter went wild, but Chang stayed somewhat tame. He decided he really liked us and "made" us take him home. We still have him. He is 18 years old and has slowed down significantly since this video was made. He is still very sweet and loving.

Couple weeks ago I watched the show called " cats 101". After watching this show I realized my little Diesel is snowshoe breed. All this time I thought he is Siamese. I don't know much about cat and he is my first cat. My bf and I got him at the store, and they said he is persian but we were so sure he wasn't. He looks more like a siamese than persian. After that show we compared him and he has all the snowshoe traces. I'm glad to find out he is half bristish short hair and half siamese. SO CUTE

Chang is beautiful. He's lucky to have found you and vice versa. Reminds me of my Snow Shoe a little.

My grandmother has a snowshoe and her name is Misty and she looks just like your cat! She even has that little white patch on her nose

@Changsmom It reminds me of my girl snow boot cat named Loki. I raised her since she was a baby. Bottled feed her and all. For a touph guy I love cats.

@boiupinhere The original Snowshoes were "created" by breeding an American DSH bi-color (black & white) with a Siamese. Then someone mated another American DSH bi-color with a Himalayan. While there are some breeders have the applehead Siamese Snowshoes, it's the round headed & "cobby" sorts that are the "real thing."
