Wonderful, David, thank you! It's was such a thrill to buy Telefunken's at that time - they were 'London imports' and not all the stores carried them. I bought this set around 1970 or so. It was nice to get the set booklet, but also that promo booklet on the Concentus Musicus that 'thrown in'. "Royal sound stereo' indeed!

@redbrian3655 Well said Brian. I compare this to the Ristenpart and Paillard versions and personally find that there is a lot that is new (to the ear) in these recordings. Like her near-staccato on the violin starting at around 1:44 or so. Subtle yet really brilliant. d

This is so definitive even after all of these years. The tempos and the spirit are everything that any performance could want. Every note rings true. BRIAN
