This video shows lightning bugs in a soybean field in eastern Nebraska during late June. The common names fireflyand lightning bug are misnomers. These insects are not flies or bugs, but soft-bodied beetles belonging to the family Lampyridae. • @blondyboy88 that's why nature is amazing! It shows things that was thought only imaginable!

  • looks fake

  • I haven't seen these in so long. It's sad.

  • Man, that is really peaceful.

  • Was just camping in Delaware! There were so many lighting up with could not keep up with them. Major causes of the decline in thier population are Pesticides, loss of habitat and of course the worse of all! Light polution! It is believed that all the artificial lighting that we produce is interferring with the Fireflies mating! But I do so enjoy watching them.

  • So pretty. We need to start taking better care of them; they're in really bad shape in a lot of areas. I barely see any at all in my area anymore, and I used to see a good number of them. =(

  • Brings me back to my early childhood in Virginia. Moved away to Oregon when I was 6, haven't seen fireflies since.
