There were actually a few versions of this song. At least two versions were in Mono. The Stereo version is rare, but the sound effects are awesome. You hear the tree falling from left to right. The music is slightly different as well. Definitely worth a listen.
This record first charted the week of March 2, 1968 and lasted five weeks, peaking at #57. It was the follow-up to the much bigger hit "She's My Girl" and came just before their much more successful entries "The Story of Rock 'n' Roll," "Elenore" and ":You Showed Me."
In all these years I never heard this extended ending! I still have the 45 with picture cover. I love the little bit of Beatles music in this tune. Glad you posted it!
