Listening to the Hideki Taniuchi's Intro, composed for the 2007 anime Death Note, I noticed that it might remind someone to the Twin Peaks Theme, composed by Angelo Badalamenti in the early '90s for the famous TV series.
That is why I decided to make a video comparison, so you can hear it clearly and tell me what you think.
Copied or just inspired-by?

  • what the hell?

  • WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

  • beautiful but i prefer the second one..death note**

  • Where the heck is this used in the Death Note anime? I don't believe it's on the soundtrack, and I don't remember it from the show.

  • Yes very, very similar! I found this looking for a connection between Deathnote and Twin Peaks when I realized that L reminds me Agent Cooper on Deathnote :P Now I'm sure that there is an intentional connection :D

  • angelo badalamenti and hideki taniuchi was inspired by the cure when they made these songs. Particularly that song Funeral party, nothing wrong with that, art is about taking certain ideas from somebodies work and making it your own, hell even famous cooks do this.

  • They sound way way alike. I'd be worried if i I was the Death Note composer.

  • Without doubt inspired by it. I almost like Death Note version more, never heard it before though.

  • I'm pretty sure Twin Peaks was absolutely massive in Japan fwiw so it certainly seems possible.

  • I only say it is similar to the funeral party from the cure ... and as a musician I am to me is very similar, not just what I say if not several other musicians, which is respected the opinion of each, maybe not is a copy, but if it is similar. thanks.
