Whilst other countries, such as the United States, do not allow their periods of pre-charge detention to exceed more than a few days, the UK government is pressing for 42. Why?

  • un-freakin-believable. They got the bugger through.

So...what is a terrorist? Prolly me doing 35mph in a 30 zone. You just know this is going to be so abused by the boys in blue.

  • The question is unanswerable. There is no justification for 42 days or 28 days or 14 days or even 7 days. The real question should be: Why is Gordon Brown continuing Tony Blair's work of installing the legislative basis of a police state?

  • Hi thanks so much for posting this video

if a major event occured and the police were under great pressure to find culprits 42 days in far more than enough time to coerce a confession or even fabricate evidence

there should have to at least be a case for detention

  • well said. It's already long enough & doesn't need to be longer. Theres only one wheel gonna get greased around here & it's us. The system has been improved ENOUGH.

Gordon mate....your concerns have been noted if the worst should happen. You'll only end up locking more of us up than the real baddies.

It's not right and it's NOT British.
