I'm not an expert but I think that this kind of cooler not help too much on this case because I think heatpipes are effective when is in direct contact with the heat source and not at distance.
When it is at distance, even a little, it takes more time to the metal gets hot and start the process and so is retribution by the cooler.

This cooler takes away heat faster then it dissipate heat.
