Clips from remote cameras placed in the Teanaway area, east of Seattle, Washington. Cameras are triggered by heat and motion and capture video or still images for a set duration.
All of these animals are found throughout the Teanaway Valley which may soon be struck by a new planned development in the center of the valley. Despite the remote nature of the area and the fantastic habitat it provides for multiple species, a large company is trying to get the local public officials to allow them to re-zone their forests for the purpose of developing a moderate-sized community that would require police, fire and all civil infrastructure that does not currently exist in the area. There isn't even a paved road into the area planned for this new town.
Most people love the Teanaway as it is, an incredibly beautiful area surrounded by tall mountains, full of fantastic areas for human recreation and animal habitat. It would sure be great to keep it that way.

  • looks as if some of the Bobcats are nearly as big as the Coyotes...Your preferance in trailcams??

  • @switchbackswitch I do see some bruisers out there.

My cameras are out all year and I would have to say that the Reconyx cams are my favorites - if you can afford them. In April of this year they are releasing a smaller version of their trailcams and it should be a winner.

My second favorite cam is the Bushnell Trailcam. Very affordable, extremely small, and it delivers ok video.

The high quality video in this movie came from my Moultries, but they haven't been my most reliable cameras.

  • what did you use to attract the animals?

  • @MrBigfute Most sites had a commercially available lure or urine. I used many different types and couldn't really say that I can recommend one any more than another.

  • What a great job. How high elevation is the wet meadow? I really enjoy your videos.

  • Thanks! It is a lot of hard work, but it is worth it. The wet meadow is about 5500 feet eleveation.
