  • cvfa the problem is that they don't even care about not only animals, but paraplegics, old people and other who need so... We have a destroyed system by our own selves as i may say, cause most of the citizens are in an ideology that "if it doesn't happen to me than i don't care".. so it is difficult to change those people minds.. basically i'm ashamed to be human.. cause these things don't happen only in Greece.. look up for the documentary named "earthlings" narrated by Joaquine Phoenix.

  • You mentioned the exact problems here in Greece. Animalhelp Kato Chorio

  • One of the reasons that I will never return to my home in Greece - I would not be told how many animals can live with me, as all my babies were from the street and I had in my flat 3 dogs and 5 cats - all from the streets ! I have also brought my animals back to the UK with me. What on earth is wrong with the Greek Government !

  • Greeks do have an animal welfare law thats better than the one we have in The Netherlands but if the Greek government isn't maintaining the law it only looks good on paper but is worthless in reallity. So there is a law and it is a firm one..!!!!!!

  • Great video!! Well done!! I founded the Dutch foudation for Animal Aid on Crete 2,5 years ago and I started to realise that 10% is a abuser, 80% doesn't give a damn and 10% is doing what they can for the animals. I think the government is the biggest problem. They have to educate the 80% about animal welfare and neutering and the 10% abusers should be punished and thrown into jail. The government is indifferent, there ass should be kicked to make them aware of the problem!!!

  • 'bigger part of the country"??? I don't think so!! The majority of people here are indifferent to matters regarding animals. And the more you delve into the matter the more disapointed you become. A person who loves animals is more than just somebody who won't hurt them or throws a bone or some leftovers to them.....

  • "we have more people who love animals" !!!!! I am sorry that is not so by admission of the minority of greek animal lovers. Greece has the worst animal abuse record, per capita, in the EU. You say there are no governmental shelters!! Of course there are and they are "hell holes", the the privately run shelters mainly rely solely on volunteers and a great deal of money donated from outside Greece, in particular the U.K.

  • I have been helping animals in Greece since our 'fateful' holiday there in 1987. The government is apathetic, but so are the majority of people, ESPECIALLY when it comes to sterilisation. Tens of thousands of puppies and kittens end up in rubbish bins and on the streets every year because people let them breed (because it's natural' and we can't interfere with nature'.... ignorants!), but then simply dump them.....

  • Here there are none seriously written.. Stand by us who love animals here in Greece to change things.. We are the bigger part of our country.. Honestly... And we are ashamed and discrased by these people.. We are sick of this ignorance and we demand too that making laws strict for animal rights is NECESSARY..
