Taped the audio from the Dr. Demento radio show in the early 80s. Digitized it some 20 years later. Today (June 21 2009) added weird pix found on the Internet and...VOILA!

Don't want to ruffle anyone's feathers but it couldn't have been taped in '79 because I didn't write it until '82!

I'm sure Dr. D would be glad to corroborate my facts. By the way, I Get Weird was just remastered and is available for purchase on iTunes, CD Baby, etc.

@jchris3227 - I am ecstatic that the GENIUS composer contacted me. You are one of my heroes! In my opinion, I Get Weird is one of the best novelty pieces ever recorded. Am still wondering how background beat was accomplished. (A drummer buddy of mine couldn't figure it out.) As for the date, my memory is obviously wrong.

Must sign off now, gonna go play with my chainsaw.

Into my sack 3,4,5, 6 Jaws' snap tail waggin', lickin his lips... some of the lyrics as I remember them. Thanks for reminding me how uptight U.P is. I wasn't a fan of the movie when it came out. But your song had me on the floor! Wish I'd kept that tape! Let's keep our fingers crossed that someone out there has a recording of it someplace. As for I get weird... Well one more reason for my wife to look at me funny.

@Rawdealin "E.T. For Breakfast" was due for a release, but a cease and desist letter was sent to Dr. Demento from Universal Pictures about several novelty records dealing with E.T. - especially the Barnes and Barnes recording and mine, so the record was pulled, and unless someone has a copy of the shows that it was aired on the only copy remaining is my master, which, since I'd like to keep my home, etc... most likely will never be heard again! Does anyone remember or have a recording to post of E.T. For Breakfast by John Christensen? I remember hearing it on Dr Demento here in Chicago. The gist of the song was baout some hunter and his dog named Jaws hunting fo E.T. as if he were a quail or something.
