I'm gald you asked. I shot this with the Sony HC3 in HDV format. This allowed me to actually zoom in on the whales in post, in order to get them in the center of the shot. While this reduces the quality of the HD version, it's quite fine for NTSC and of course, this YouTube-sized video. I did the edit and rendering using Sony Vegas.

I must say, the new Sony HDR-SR11 is much better in many ways. Get that from Sony Referb for around $700!!!
