"Lorenzo the Tramp" and his alter egos "Clarence the Country Boy", "Nevada Ned" and "Gerry Wheeler" dance their way through the opening and closing credits of Baltimore's popular weekday morning show of the 1960's; "Lorenzo's Cartoon Festival".

Watch for a filmed 60-second show promo in the middle and an explanation as to what Lorenzo is doing now-a-days at the conclusion.

Gerald Wheeler (of Lorenzo's Cartoon Festival) attends my adult day care on the U.S. west coast. He suffers from Alzheimer's. I wanted to see what a talented man he was.

To this day he loves to entertain. Even though he has Alzheimer's, his spirit stays alive.

  • I loved Lorenzo and my parents got a kick out of my doing the Lorenzo Stomp for them!

  • lorenzo rocked. gerry wheeler is a class act and can never be replicated

  • I grew up with this guy in the early 60s! Never knew the shows were done in color-we only had a B&W set back then!

  • I used to love this guy,lol

  • @onefroggymorning Maybe you are thinking of Hashimoto Mouse cartoons? Sounds like a typical plot from those, some of which can be found on YouTube. They were produced by TerryToons and I think were on Lorenzo and even Sally Starr. Good Luck!

  • Whenever I'd hear the Lorenzo Stomp I'd always wonder , what ever happend to Lorenzo? Thank You Now I know

    I adored watching him move.

Watching this clip, brings back warm feelings and memoreis.

  • My family moved from Pittsburgh to the Philly area in late 1966 and discovered the local kids shows such as Pixanne, Sally Starr, Gene London, and Gerry Wheeler as Lorenzo. I loved all these shows! The only thing I remember about this show is Lorenzo never talked (did he?) and dancing (dressed as a hobo) to "Yakkety Sax. My brothers and I never missed any of our favorite programs. Thanks for the memories--haven't seen this stuff since 1968!

  • are there any episodes of lorenzo the tramp bullfighting

  • BRINGS BACK MEMORIES!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was on the Lorenzo show as a kid in Baltimore. It was my first time in a TV studio and I was so excited and fascinated by the whole experience. It's probably one of the reasons I'm in acting today. I remember seeing myself on the TV monitor and thinking how cool! Too bad we didn't have VCRs back then. Would love to have copies of the show, but they've probably been tossed for lack of storage space. Best wishes to Mr Wheeler for the joy he brought to all us kids in Baltimore! Thanks Lorenzo!
